Working as a blacksmith for noblemen willing to kill to protect their secrets, Avvyr knows his days are numbered. Unless he walks a path more dangerous than death itself.

As he unearths the truth behind their power—something far grimmer than he ever could have imagined—Avvyr realizes there is a way to put an end to the nobles’ brutal reign.

When Avvyr is taken into a mythical forest on the coast of Lianthe, he realizes there is a deeper, grimmer truth to every story. Even his own.

In his nineteen years of life, Avvyr has only ever followed the rigid code of survival, not making a stand even in the most difficult of circumstances. Yet now, working as a blacksmith for noblemen who flirt with madness and chase tainted prosperity he cannot ignore the impulse to act.

But while his intentions are pure, the journey he brings upon himself thins the divide between light and darkness, entrapping him in the very cage he had wanted the world to escape.

Forged in Flames is the older, sinister brother to The Iron Head Trilogy.

The novel can be read as a standalone, or after the trilogy for maximum enjoyment.

The Dark Ones (Black Werewolves, Book 1)

In a world ruled by lethal Slavic immortals, Rose and her pack of Black werewolves are drawn into the beginning of a war as they try to uncover the being behind the mass murder of White werewolves.

Because the nature of the killings obstructs the normal passage of souls, Veles, the sultry lord of the underworld, offers Rose his assistance; the were is left facing not only the new knowledge of the pack’s hidden lineage but also her growing fondness for the arrogant god…

To win the war, the pack must ascend to The Dark Ones. But to do so, they must be willing to risk being on the receiving end of the immortal community’s wrath.

The 24hourlies (Black Werewolves, Book 2)

The ascension to The Dark Ones had brought Rose and her pack power. But it had also brought peril.

With the higher immortal circles observing their every move, the only way the pack can prevent from becoming the recipients of their resentment is to keep their presence profitable for the wider community.

When someone begins targeting the twentyfourhourlies, the civil and agreeable vampiric individuals, the werewolves come to their aid.

But what had first seemed like an assignment done to remain in the leaders’ good graces, now becomes a mission for which the pack is willing to risk its safety and anonymity in exchange for the possibility of catching the responsible party.

Chased (Black Werewolves, Book 2.5)

Katja is more than ready to meet Jürgen’s family. But she feels the need to share the shadows of her past first.

As they travel to Munich, Katja has to fight her fears and open up to the werewolf if she wishes to truly, wholly share her life with someone.

But her visit with the Freundenbergers brings more than just a heart-to-heart as the vampire finds herself in a situation that seems frightfully like an echo of her own nightmares.

April & May Book Recommendations

These last two months have been insane! I’ve finished writing & editing the second novel in the Black Werewolves series (which is available for pre-order on Amazon at a special price of $1.99 instead of $3.99). I went to see the BossHoss play live in Vienna for the second time and got to dance on stage (I mean, who doesn’t love cowboys? Yeehaw!). Not to mention that I published Drowned in Demand, the first novella in the erotic paranormal romance series Drowned.

So… As you can see I’ve been super busy, hence the 2in1 book rec!

Sarah J. Maas: A Court of Mist and Fury

a_court_of_mist_and_fury_-_uk_cover

Let me start with the book I’ve actually read TWICE since its release (honestly, I can’t remember the last time I did that). The sequel to Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses delivered all I had hoped for and so, so much more.

The book is breathtakingly written, the storyline so captivating that I was barely able to peel away from the pages.

Maas introduces new characters that a reader can’t help falling in love with, and spins a whole new story about those we have already known.

Now, I know this book received some grievances about the unexpected shift concerning Feyre’s life (those who had read the novel will know what I’m talking about)… But honestly, I don’t mind it. It’s written effectively, giving just enough insight so that readers can puzzle the picture together themselves. And once they do… The story just makes sense.

So let me say it again. I read it twice. And wouldn’t mind picking the book up a third time. Even with so little time in-between.

Michael-Scott Earle: The Destroyer

51k5ZxzB6dL._SX311_BO1,204,203,200_

I picked up this dark fantasy novel while browsing around free books to see if anything caught my eye. Well, The Destroyer most certainly did and the novel didn’t disappoint.

Although the writing can be a bit rough at times, it’s nothing that would put a reader off. And the world Earle creates certainly makes up for it!

The narration is divided into multiple perspectives that not only offer different insights into the story but show us different times as well; of the time when Elvens ruled over humans, of the human world now facing an Elven threat… And of the mysterious history surrounding the O’Baarni, an unstoppable weapon that had once destroyed the hated race.

The novel is free on Amazon, so if you’re looking for a dark fantasy read, I highly suggest you hit that download button!

(Just FYI: I’m currently reading the sequel and am thoroughly enjoying the new developments)

Charlaine Harris: Midnight Crossroad; Night Shift

51nyf4E3lyL._SX282_BO1,204,203,200_ 51AzJ+nIWbL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

Let me put these two babies on the list before I throw myself into the third one that has been released this month.

If you like your books with A LOT of atmosphere and a unique setting that is presented so vividly it makes you wish you were part of it, then the Midnight, Texas series is the perfect read.

The series is set in the same world as the Southern Vampires Mysteries, but aside from maybe a scene or two, you aren’t missing out on much if you haven’t read the books but rather decided to simply delve into the enchanting world Harris builds in Midnight, Texas instead.

Unless you’re craving for a shitload of action, these novels will have you flipping the pages and drinking in every little detail of this weird yet charming town.

And remember, the third book is already out! Perfect for binge-reading, am I right?
