Lotte barely settled into her new life as an ICRA agent when an executive order sends her on a mission to Berlin—the latest location of a vamp serial killer no one seems to be able to catch.
As if the murders involving torn throats and ancient dark magic aren’t troublesome enough on their own, Lotte learns the person responsible is someone she knows. Someone she never believed could go dark.
The evidence laid before her is irrefutable.
Only it doesn’t make hunting a loved one any easier.
Can Lotte go through with her job? Or will her bias allow a killer to walk free?
Don’t miss out on the fourth title in the Lotte Freundenberger series!
You can’t move forward without killing your past. Sometimes literally.
As a Black werewolf with a taste for the hunt, Greta Freundenberger found her pack of like-minded supes in ICRA’s Violent Crimes division. More than that—she just might have met the wolf who could be her mate.
If only Demyan Morozov wasn’t so damn reluctant to act on the attraction.
Greta suspects his hesitancy is tied to him being her boss, but when Morozov closes off after a well-coordinated attempt on his life, she can’t sit on the sidelines any longer.
Keeping Morozov alive, however, means more than skirting the lines of what’s proper in a workplace. It requires a firm step beyond the very boundaries of the law she had sworn to uphold.
Which side of her will prevail? The agent—or the wolf, willing to do anything to protect her mate?
HEAT OF THE NIGHT is a standalone paranormal romance that can be read independently, but if you want to follow the general Kolovrat timeline, I highly recommend picking it up after Transient Moon.
Evenfall delivered Ember right to the portal to Svitanye, and now it’s time to venture into a new land.

Violet fire reigned above. Streaks of pink and dark blue tinted the wispy clouds strewn across the majestic sapphire and purple gradient of the sky; a multitude of hues that set the world alight, yet spoke of soothing darkness on the cusp of its departure. I stood immobile, my fingers wrapped around Ada’s blade and the hollow ache in my chest a constant presence—yet even it seemed to have quieted, as if taken by the beauty. I pressed my bloodied hand to my heart, the other clutching the dagger even tighter. Svitanye. The land of dawn. In the distance, the hazy arch of the sun spread its rays across the horizon and brushed the delicate contours of trees and wild fields. Morning. This was what true morning looked like. It didn’t matter how late the hour was, that it had been evening when we had left Somraque behind. Gazing at this vibrant canvas… I felt something in me awaken.
Just a quick notice to let you know that all three currently published books in the Lotte Freundenberger series will be switching distributors in preparation for the fourth one which is scheduled for early next year. I also intend to move the entire Black Werewolves series.
While I love wide distribution and all the benefits it offers to readers, a girl’s gotta eat and this arrangement, unfortunately, isn’t working out.
Once the move is done, both series will be available solely on Amazon (under different ASINs as I’ll be using their platform directly), and as soon as they’re taken off all extended channels, they will be enrolled in KU to match the rest of the titles in the Kolovrat universe.
All my fantasy books (Shadowfire Trilogy, Iron Head Trilogy, Forged in Flames) will remain wide, as will Cotton Candy.
Thank you for understanding while I switch things around!
My fingers itched to wrap around the handle of my trusty blade. Much like every damn nerve inside me screamed to burst from my perch among the thick shadows and dart across the terrain; give the assholes one last surprise in their lives.
But desires and commands rarely aligned.
Thanks to the latter, all I could do was lurk on the ledge like a stalker and watch the fuckers syphon power from the vulnerable energy point.
Frustration twisted my face into something between a grimace and a sneer. All the previous times had been bad enough, but getting cockblocked—well, bladeblocked was probably the better term—now…
The dickheads encircling the valve weren’t even Raya’s demons, but individuals belonging to various courts, all of them believing they could have a nice, fat slice of cake at this illegal party they had going on.
Apparently, they truly could.
I wound my own shadows tighter around me—a self-imposed straitjacket to counter the anger simmering in my blood and threatening to spill over. Spending more time in the Shadow World after years of rapid drive-bys came with an unexpected side effect.
I’d grown protective of my native realm.
Though it seemed I wasn’t the only one who’d changed my tune.
A stray wisp of energy rubbed against me. The nine demons pounced on the leak, gobbling it up immediately. Team-fucking-work.
I suppressed a bitter snort.
Yeah, definitely not the only one who’d changed my damn tune.
Despite Pigalle’s longstanding tradition of catering to all kinds of carnal pleasures, there was only one club in the quartier that fulfilled more than just human desires.
And that darling was mine.
With an exhale, I let the final remnants of what would mark me as other go, then tapped out the access code on the sleek panel with a manicured carmine-red nail. The green light blinked, and I strode onto the decadent main floor, no more than Perine Beaumont—owner, entertainer. Loved by those who cherished carnal pleasure. And a thorn in the side of those who thought them vile.
As always, Succ’s trademark burgundy-and-black interior was filled with patrons boasting varying levels of sexual tension. The delicious anticipation made it easy to point out the ones who intended to retire to the private rooms, but even among the individuals who merely popped in for the atmosphere, show, and drinks, the undercurrent of desire persisted.
Machines beeped away in their gleeful rhythm as I ran on the treadmill, wishing with every step that the screech marking the end of the test would sound through the sweat- and disinfectant-filled space.
It wasn’t that I minded the additional exercise. Far from it. The burn in my muscles was always a gratifying sensation.
But after doing the same damn thing for nearly three months, it was getting kind of tiresome.
“Five more minutes, Lotte,” Agnieszka said from behind her station.
I let out an obligatory groan, but the petite brunette didn’t react. She kept staring intently at the monitors, a travel mug filled with blood that prickled my nose in one hand, a pen with Interspecies Crimes and Relations Agency spelled out on the side in the other. She marked something down on her trusty pad, although for the life of me, I couldn’t imagine just what it could have been aside from SAME.

There are no cars in the Shadow World. No gentle hum of traffic to lull a person to sleep.
The wake-up calls, on the other hand, apparently didn’t discriminate between the mortal and the demonic realm. Lucky me.
My eyes snapped open at the unmistakable dull thunk of a knife embedding itself in my bedpost. I glanced at the silver gleam of the dagger a mere two inches from my head.
A damn fine way to rouse a person and keep them from snoozing all at once.
“Do you plan on throwing yourself off the sill, darling?” I drawled into the inky night the sickly yellow light of the lampposts barely touched. “Or will you get your ass inside already? It’s fucking drafty.”
Shadow World is live at long last! I’m so excited to introduce you to Crina; she was one of the most fun characters ever to work with. Even if circumstances were running her patience thin 😉
Grab your copy from Amazon to join Crina and explore the Shadow World with its (sometimes insufferably hot) denizens.
